Olivia S. Taylor

Olivia S. Taylor was born in Mobile, Alabama, in a section called “Down the Bay,” along the shores of the Mobile Bay, an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico. Shortly after World War II ended, her family moved to the outskirts of town, to an area called Trinity Garden, near Rag Swamp. It was here that she came of age and finished school. She is the middle child of seven children. She moved to New York in the early 60’s. She resides in Brooklyn. It is here where she has been a community organizer, parent, and teacher for almost fifty years. She founded and administered a day school from which she recently retired. Now she writes, reads, and tells short stories. She is currently working on a collection of short stories entitled Rainbows Above and Below.
